Kiwoom hopes to get out of last place with ‘3 consecutive wins’, coach Hong Won-ki says, “Jang Jae-young did his part for 4 innings.”

Kiwoom defeated Hanwha after a fierce battle and won three games in a row.

Kiwoom won 11-6 in the away game against Hanwha in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League held at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon on the 22nd.

Table setters Kim Hye-seong and Ronnie Dawson, No. 1 and 2, led the Kiwoom batting lineup with 4 hits and 1 RBI. Song Seong-moon scored 11 runs with 15 hits, including 2 hits and 3 RBIs, and Park Soo-jong had 2 hits and 1 RBI.

10th place Kiwoom바카라, which recently won 3 consecutive games, recorded 54 wins, 78 losses, and 3 draws, trailing 9th place Samsung (53 wins, 74 losses, 1 draw), which lost 5 games in a row due to a loss to Doosan in Daegu on this day, by 1.5 games. Their record against Hanwha ended slightly behind with 7 wins, 8 losses, and 1 draw.

After the game, Kiwoom coach Hong Won-ki said, “Starter Jang Jae-young did his job for four innings, and the pitchers who followed him also did a good job blocking the inning. In a tight game, Jeon Byeong-woo performed a bunt strategy well in the 9th inning, resulting in an additional point. “We were able to make it, and Song Seong-moon’s two RBIs put a wedge in the game. I’m happy to give victory to the fans who came all the way to Daejeon and cheered us on,” he said of the victory.

Although he was not the winning pitcher, starting pitcher Jang Jae-young laid the foundation for victory by pitching 4 innings, allowing 3 hits, 5 walks, 5 strikeouts, and 1 run. He pitched almost two pitches with fastballs (41), sliders (51), and curves (1) with a maximum speed of 152 km and an average of 148 km.
