11 wins in the middle of the season…Bears’ belly “Baseball until mid-November? It’s going to be cold, but I’m looking forward to it”

Brandon, the Doosan Bears’ belly-button foreign pitcher, pitched six scoreless innings to earn his 11th win of the season. As he continues to pitch solidly, there is plenty to look forward to in the postseason.토토사이트

On October 8, Brandon started against the Lotte Giants in Jamsil and pitched six innings of one-hit ball, striking out eight and walking one in a 2-1 win.

Brandon got off to a clean start with two strikeouts in the top of the first inning. After retiring the side in order in the top of the second, Brandon gave up a walk to Ahn Kwon-soo in the top of the third for the first run of the game.

However, after getting through the top of the third inning without allowing another run, Brandon cruised through the top of the fourth and fifth innings without much trouble.

Meanwhile, Doosan opened the scoring in the bottom of the fourth with a double by Yang Seok-hwan and a single to left by Yang Ji. With runners on first and third, Kang Seung-ho lined a sacrifice fly to left field to score the go-ahead run.

Brandon, who earned his 11th win of the season, took the mound in the top of the sixth and induced three straight infield grounders to get off to a quality start.

Doosan got a run back in the top of the seventh off Ahn Kwon-soo. However, reliever Jung Chul-won, who came in for a multi-inning save after two outs in the top of the eighth, prevented the tying run from scoring and then worked out of a jam with runners on first and second in the top of the ninth to preserve the one-run lead.

Doosan manager Lee Seung-yeop said after the game, “Starting pitcher Brandon pitched a perfect game. The bullpen had their moments, but they did their part by minimizing the runs. In a game where the first run was crucial, the center fielders did their job. In the bottom of the fourth inning, the third, fourth, and fifth batters hit consecutive singles to set the tone for the game. The game-winning run was scored by Yang Ji, who made an aggressive play on the basepaths to score a valuable run. “Every game is important, and the support of our fans today was very encouraging. We are grateful for their support.”

Brandon, who joined the team midseason as a substitute foreign pitcher and led them to their 11th win of the season, said, “As you can see from the scoreline, it was a total team effort on the mound, hitting, and defense. It was a good day for us as we tried to keep them off balance with different pitches and different velocities. Our catcher, Yang Ji Won, continued to be aggressive with her pitches. My 11 wins on the season are more about my teammates than myself.”

Brandon will pitch one game in the remainder of the regular season before preparing for his first KBO postseason. He hopes to be on the mound for the Korean Series in mid-November.

“Every player aspires to play in the postseason. I’m excited just thinking about it. However, we still have a lot of regular season games to play, so we need to focus on finishing the regular season well. I had a taste of the minor league postseason in 2018. It’s going to be cold when the Korean Series is in mid-November this year, but I’m looking forward to getting to that stage. It will prove that we played well in fall baseball, and I hope the Doosan fans will look forward to it,” he smiled.
