If you had to choose between Son Heung-min and James Maddison, who would it be?굿모닝토토
Alejandro Moreno, a commentator for ESPN, a global sports media outlet, recently praised Son Heung-min’s presence.
“He’s a difference maker for the team,” Moreno said. He’s a difference maker for the team,” Moreno said.
“Soccer is a goal-scoring sport. If he scores, Tottenham wins. If he doesn’t, it will be difficult. Madsen doesn’t score those goals,” he added.
Son has been the team’s talisman up front this season. His first goal of the season came against Burnley. He scored a hat trick in a three-goal blitz to put an end to a promising start.
It was the fourth hat-trick of his EPL career against Burnley this season, after Southampton (2020/21), Aston Villa (2021/22), and Leicester City (2022/23).
Against Arsenal, Son’s multi-goal performance prevented the Gunners from losing and secured a valuable point away from home. He also scored his 150th goal for Tottenham.
Son was also hot on his feet against Liverpool. He opened the scoring with an assist from James Maddison and reached the milestone of 200 European goals.
Heung-min’s six-goal haul in September was nothing short of spectacular. He was rewarded with the EPL Player of the Month award. This is the fourth time in his career, after September 2016, April 2017, and October 2020.
As a game-winning goal scorer, Son is more important than Maddison, according to this analysis.
However, Tottenham fan site Spurs Web disagreed, stating that “it’s hard to score goals without Son, especially if Xherdan Shaqiri is not playing well.”
“If I had to choose between Son and Madison, I would choose Madison,” he said. It shows how important he is to the team.”
While he doesn’t score as many goals as Son, his creative play and huge role in creating chances makes up for it.
Maddison joined Tottenham from Leicester City ahead of the season and was immediately named vice-captain, where he has become a playmaker as well as an initiator of the attack. A pot belly was born.
Maddison leads the English Premier League (EPL) with five assists this season and is the player with the most passes into the box with 105.
He also boasts a key pass ratio of 2.8, long ball ratio of 1.8, pass success rate of 84.6%, crosses of 1.4, and shots on goal of 2.3.
His performances were rewarded this season when he was named the August Player of the Month. He has good chemistry with Son Heung-min. He has assisted on goals against Arsenal and Liverpool.
