“I’ve already received an offer of well over $500 million”…Ohtani Ahead of ‘Final Decision’, Will He Sign ‘$600 Million’ Super Big Hit Contract

In this installment of the Story Brigade, we feature Shohei Ohtani (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim). After joining the Angels in 2018 and playing for them for six seasons, Ohtani hit free agency next season.

In his six seasons at the plate, Otani “Idoryu” hit .274 with 171 home runs, 437 RBI, 428 runs scored, and a .922 OPS. On the mound, he started 86 games, compiling a 38-19 record, 481⅔ innings pitched, 608 strikeouts, a 3.01 ERA, and a 1.08 WHIP (walks allowed per inning).굿모닝토토 주소

This season, he’s done it again. At the plate, Ohtani hit .304 with 44 home runs, 95 RBIs and 20 doubles for a 1.066 batting average, and on the mound, he started 23 games, going 10-5 with a 3.14 ERA, 167 strikeouts and a 1.06 WHIP in 132 innings pitched. A late-season injury quickly ended his season, but he was unanimously named American League MVP.

Ohtani was named unanimous MVP for the second time in his career, following the 2021 season. He is the first player in Major League Baseball history to be named unanimous MVP more than once.

Ohtani will not take the mound next season after undergoing elbow surgery. It’s unlikely he’ll even throw a ball in 2025, but his value is huge. He’s set to sign a historic contract.

MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, reported on Thursday (April 4) that “the bidding for Ohtani is heating up. MLB Network’s John Heyman was quoted in the New York Post as saying, “Ohtani has already received multiple offers well in excess of $500 million (about KRW 64.95 billion). Some are wondering if Ohtani’s contract could reach $600 million,” the New York Post reported.

“According to Heyman, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Toronto Blue Jays, San Francisco Giants and Angels are the finalists in the race for Ohtani. But a new contender could emerge.”

All eyes are on the Otani deal. And it looks like it will be announced soon. According to Ben Nicholson-Smith of US outlet Sportsnet, “Ohtani will be meeting with several teams in Los Angeles soon. Negotiations are in the final stages.”
